Passing of J. Harold Huntt
It is with great sadness that the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad announce the passing of Past President and Past Chief J. Harold Huntt.
"Harold’s fire career started in 1964 joining the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department and worked his way up with schooling to the rank of Fire Chief. He remained Bryans Roads Fire Chief for 5 ½ years and was President for one year. During his time as Fire Chief, he became the first “County” Fire Chief by the Charles County Volunteer Fire Association. He retired in 1990 with 29 years in the Federal Government. He joined the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department in 1989 to still serve his community and became a Life Member of the Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a past member of the Maryland State Firemen’s Association."
Viewing:
Monday, Sept. 25 from 5pm-8pm with Firefighter service at 7pm at Hughesville VFD.
Funeral:
Tuesday Sept. 26 at 10am at Hughesville VFD.

MVC Vehicle into bldg September 19th, 2023
Late last night crews responded to a call for service after a vehicle struck a building in the 2300 block of S Hampton Dr. Arriving units found a single vehicle that had backed into the residence. There were no injuries reported.
Units: RE11, 11A, 11B, Special Ops Chief 17, Capt 11, Collapse Unit 7, 73, 91 and NDW Truck 20.

Honoring our heroes, September 11th, 2023
On September 11, 2001, 2,977 people were killed in the deadliest terrorist attacks in American history.
After hearing of the attacks, five of our bravest firefighters, responded in Engine 112, 248 miles from our station to ground zero and began assisting in the rescue operations.
Working Fire Alert, September 10th, 2023
At approximately 1700 hours, crews were alerted to a structure fire in Cobb Island on the 11000 block of Bachelor's Hope ct.
Truck 11 and Engine 112 responded with a total of 10 personnel while the station maintained an additional crew for first due response.

The Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad is currently accepting applications from dedicated, hard-working, and friendly people for membership. No experience necessary. Will provide training.
Applicant must be willing to learn Firefighting, EMS, or both and serve the community as a professional. Experienced persons are highly encouraged to apply.
